The 2024 Canadian International Organ Competition

October 2024

The 6th edition of the Canadian International Organ Competition is quickly approaching, taking place from October 17th to 27th, 2024. This autumn, the CIOC will welcome 11 talented young organists from 7 different countries to Montreal as they compete on some of Canada’s finest organs for the chance to win prizes totalling more than $100,000 CAD. The competitors will be judged by a jury composed of some of the most eminent, internationally-renowned figures in the music scene.

Coinciding with the 2024 competition is the annual Grand Organ Festival, a month-long celebration of music brimming with exceptional programming that presents the organ like you’ve never heard it before with a collection of events for all ages and interests, including concerts by renowned organist Olivier Latry, Bernard Foccroulle, Isabelle Demers, and others; educational workshops, tours, and masterclasses; and our Gala Concert featuring the top three CIOC prizewinners. This fall, audiences will have the special opportunity to discover world-renowned organists, both local and international, whose talents will shine a spotlight on the city’s rich musical heritage. Stay tuned for full programming to be announced this month!
